Insta-Candidate App  

At High Reaches Weyr, we realize that the Search process is not for everyone, and that there are opportunities to be had to have some great roleplay during weyrlinghood. To this end, we’d like to offer the option to create an insta Candidate/Weyrling, with a few guidelines.

The process to apply for an insta candidate is fairly simple and open to anyone, whether you have a dragonrider on the game or at High Reaches Weyr or not.

Insta candidates come out of our Impression allotment (10 per cycle), and are decided after Traditional Candidates. We will allow 10 minus the number of non-gold-only/stand-only applications. This means availability will vary according to cycle.

Applications will remain open for a couple of days after our hatching. Applications approved after the hatching will count against our Insta Rider allocation, to a maximum of 3.

This cycle, we have a preference towards green/blue applications.

Application Process

• Fill out this application by the deadline.
• We will review it and then contact you about a possible ‘get to know you’ scene, which will likely be your candidate’s search.
• Once searched, you may play your character as a standard candidate.
• Acceptance will be provisional; if we have any concerns, we will talk to you before the hatching.
• At the hatching, your dragon will hatch and Impress via a modified set of NPC emits, which we will provide.

Some Guidelines

• We are open to any character concept, however bronzes may or may not be available, dependent upon traditional candidate applications.
• We strongly encourage you to read the logs available through the friends list of our Livejournal Community or available on our Wiki. This is so you can get a better idea of the style of play at High Reaches and what sorts of temperaments might complement our mix and what we might have too many of.
• Feel free to discuss with the admin or other High Reaches Weyr players, including other candidates, to see what might best fit with their/our history.

Please answer the following questions as fully as possible. Be honest in your replies. We will be picky, and may choose not to accept any applications.You have until 17th August to submit this application. Applications will be reviewed as a group after our traditional candidate decisions have been made, and upon receipt after that date. Nonetheless, we encourage you to consider applying early.

Existing characters on the grid are more than welcome to apply.

Application Questions

1. What is your character’s name, age, and gender? (We follow traditional naming conventions.)  

2. Does your character meet all of the requirements on the Search checklist?   Yes   No

3. Give us a brief history of your character.
   

4. Describe your character’s personality to us.
   

5. Give us a brief rundown of the dragon you intend your character to Impress. Please include name, color, size, and any notable characteristics, both in terms of physical appearance and personality. Please be flexible, especially with names.
   

6. Why have you chosen the insta-candidate route, as opposed to traditional search and candidacy?
   

7. How do you think your character will fit in with the other candidates? Be specific (and brief).
   

8. What is your general availability like, as well as your availability for a possible ‘get to know you’/search scene? What time zone are you in?
   

9. Is there anything else you think we ought to know? Do you have anything specific in mind for your character’s search? For their Impression? For weyrlinghood, including possible death?
