This cycle, High Reaches is testing out a slightly altered Search structure. We understand that the traditional Search method is not necessarily ideal for all potential applicants; accordingly, we are offering applicants a choice as to their application process:

1. Traditional Search
   This method is largely unchanged from previous searches at High Reaches Weyr. Applicants apply for search, are evaluated by a Search Committee, and, if successful, receive a fully written dragon at the hatching.

   Notably:

   • Residents of High Reaches Weyr may (but do not have to) pick whether their character is Searched, whether their character is asked to Stand, or whether their character /asks/ to Stand. They may also select the timeframe of their search.
   • Non-Residents will be Searched in the traditional manner, and will be brought in as soon as possible.
   • All Applicants will be +mailed when the decisions whether to Search their characters are made.
   • According to game limits, we may Impress up to 10 people.
   • Applications are open for all colors, however any gold we Impress will be a temporary, plot-focused, exile gold. Please see the Plot FAQ for more information.
   • Stand-Only applications are also accepted.
   • Anyone who is not on the Search Committee is eligible to apply.

2. Insta Candidates
   This method is for those who are not interested in a traditional candidacy, do not care about receiving a written dragon, or are not eligible for Traditional Search.

   Notably:

   • Applications will open after OOC Search ends and will close shortly afte the hatching.
   • Applications will not be approved or denied until after the Impressions meeting, giving Traditional Search applicants first dibs.
   • We may or may not be allowing bronze Impressions; if you are interested in applying for bronze, please consider whether you have a second choice, should we elect not to have bronzes.
   • Applicants will be required to have a ‘test scene’, which will most likely be their Search.
   • Successful applicants will be allowed to attend the hatching and Impress on camera.
   • We will approve no more than 10 minus the number of non-stand-only Candidates.
   • Instas may be existing characters on the grid.
   • Applications are open to anyone who has not applied for Traditional Search (this includes the Search Committee).
