High Reaches Weyr . PernMUSH: June 9, 2005 OOC Search Meeting Search Cycle: Summer 2005 Search Information Meeting Jun 9, 2005 Josilina says, "Hi, and welcome to the info meeting for HRW's upcoming Search cycle! Any questions you have after reading this can always go to myself, S'rist or any other admin member. :)" Josilina says, "The gold rising this time around will be Satiet's Teonath - she'll go up on June 22nd, which is also when OOC Search will open up, lasting until July 20th. This is the block of time that you submit your OOC application, which can be found on HRW's website. (http://www.hrweyr.net)" Josilina says, "The application is already on the site, as is the Search Information Guide (which is important to read through) and a schedule with important cycle dates will be added very soon." Josilina says, "The metallic application is also on the site, which can be submitted with your regular application, or afterwards. We accept metallic applications for a longer window, until July 30. That's the application you'd fill out if you're applying for a bronze there will be no gold egg this cycle. Applications should be sent to lhiannonth@yahoo.com - thats my email address." Josilina says, Egg descriptions can be sent to Satiet they will be accepted from now until before the clutching (which is yet to be scheduled for sure, but the expected window is about July 15-24). Josilina says, "The egg theme is generally titled 'Warm Fuzzies.' Think of the things that comfort you, that make you happy, from the tattered baby blanket you've had for years, or the feel of grass beneath your back as you sunbathe with the blue sky above. This can be anything from a comfort food, to a place that makes you happier or serene, an event, a smell, or an object. Basically, there is no limit on what is accepted though we'd like a good spread rather than 7 eggs all based off of comfort foods. :) Also try to keep the eggs from being OOC (like Airplane Egg), and keep them PG. And please include, with the description, an egg name, a sound blurb (example: Pressing your ear to Pots and Pans Egg, you can hear what seems to be a distant clanging.) and a texture blurb (ex: The shell of Sandy Egg feels grainy and rough to the touch.)." Josilina says, "There'll be a +bbpost about eggs as well on the HRW bboard." Josilina says, "IC Search starts up after the clutching. If you've applied and are not going to be Searched, you'll get a +mail about it after all the PCs have been Searched that are going to be." Josilina says, "Our Hatching window is between August 19th and 28th. What actual date the Hatching is on depends on availability of the Candidates and staff who're working on the Hatching. But it'll be +bbposted about and put on the site calendar and all that when it's decided." Josilina says, "SearchCo here at HRW consists of anyone who wants to volunteer, who isn't standing and doesn't have an alt who's standing. There's also some other criteria to meet, on the website, but it's all pretty basic. (To put yourself in for SearchCo, if youre not standing, please +mail me your email address.) Confidential questions on the Search application are not shown to all of SearchCo though, S'rist and I will be the only ones to see them." Josilina adds, "If you apply as a concept character, it's basically an alternative route of sorts. If you apply as a concept char, SearchCo will be looking at your character a little differently. There's less emphasis in activity, and more on creativity and proactiveness, if you will. As a concept character you're trying to show that your character will -really- add something to RP in the Weyr. It's also a chance to try out something like having your character die in weyrlinghood, or something like that. It's about pushing to try different lines of RP or involvement in plotlines or something." Josilina says, "Concept Characters are also judged by the area's need for that sort of character. If we've got an influx of "snobby" type characters, to make a broad generalization, a snobby concept char will be less likely to Impress than a concept character that's of a "type" we don't have a lot of. It helps balance out RP around the Weyr. :) Regular characters, on the other hand, aren't judged on IC personality the same way." Josilina says, "Thanks for taking the time to read this, and again, if youve got any questions feel free to drop a +mail my way or ask any other HRW admin."
