High Reaches Weyr . PernMUSH: February 2, 2006 OOC Search Meeting Search Cycle: Winter/Spring 2006 Search Information Meeting Feb 2, 2006 You say "Alright guys, let's get started. Hi, and welcome to the info meeting for HRW's upcoming Search cycle! Any questions you have after reading this can always go to myself, S'rist or any other admin member. As far as questions during the meeting, please just wait until the end - I'll give a call for them." You say "The gold rising this time around will be Matheny's Jenryth - she'll go up on February 4th, which is also when OOC Search will open up, lasting until March 11th. This is the block of time that you submit your OOC application, which can be found on HRW's website. (www.hrweyr.net) The application is already on the site, as is the Search Information Guide (which is important to read through) and a schedule with important cycle dates will be added very soon." You say "The metallic application is also on the site, which can be submitted with your regular application, or afterwards. We accept metallic applications for a longer window, until March 19th. That's the application you'd fill out if you're applying for a bronze - there will be no gold egg this cycle. Applications should be sent to Lhiannonth@yahoo.com - that's my email address. Additionally, as far as applications go, the confidential questions will not be shown to all of SearchCo; only S'rist and I will see them." You say "IC Search starts up after the clutching. If you've applied and are not going to be Searched, you'll get a +mail about it after all the PCs have been Searched that are going to be." You say "As for the clutching, and the eggs to go with, anyone may contribute egg descriptions, and there will be a +bbpost at some point, regarding submissions and themes." You say "Our Hatching window is between April 14th and 23rd. What actual date the Hatching is on depends on availability of the Candidates and staff who're working on the Hatching. But it'll be +bbposted about and put on the site calendar and all that when it's decided" You say "If you apply as a concept character, it's basically an alternative route of sorts. SearchCo will be looking at your character a little differently, if you choose that route. There's less emphasis in activity, and more on creativity and proactiveness, if you will. As a concept character you're trying to show that your character will -really- add something to RP in the Weyr. It's also a chance to try out something like having your character die in weyrlinghood, or something like that. It's about pushing to try different lines of RP or involvement in plotlines or something." You say "Concept Characters are also judged by the area's need for that sort of character. If we've got an influx of "snobby" type characters, to make a broad generalization, a snobby concept char will be less likely to Impress than a concept character that's of a "type" we don't have a lot of. It helps balance out RP around the Weyr. :) Regular characters, on the other hand, aren't judged on IC personality the same way. Further information on concept characters is available on the website, and you can also always +mail any questions you have." You say "That concludes the general Search portion of this meeting; now S'rist will talk about the TP we are running alongside this cycle." S'rist says "Okay, we're going to have a TP running this cycle, with a number of events, activities and a storyline/mystery that runs from beginning to end. To assist with what we're calling the 'HRW Adventure' we're going to implement a very rudimentary game system." S'rist says "In fact, if you type '+sheet' right now you'll see the basic information we're going to have. Each applicant will be asked to suggest some positive adjectives that would apply to their character. As part of each application, we'll assign two of those to each persons sheet to indicate their strong points inside the adventure. These adjectives and values will be used for several challenges inside the planned scenes." S'rist says "The planned storyline will go through the candidacy period and have a second phase which will continue through weyrling training to graduation. It will have parts so that those that impress and those that don't will all have opportunities and events in the adventure." S'rist says "That's it, in a nutshell." S'rist says "Oh, +attributes gives you a sample of some attributes. I'll be adding a whole lot more in the next day or two. +stathelp gives you all of the commands we're going to use with this adventure." You say "Alright, I think that's it then. Thank you everyone for coming, and we hope to see you around!" S'rist says "Thanks everyone!"
