Satiet turns on the log, the OOC lamp, and passes out margaritas and mojitos as needed.

You say "And virgin drinks too, for those who choose not to partake, even virtually of the free booze."

I'daur says "The virtual's the only kind I can have, boo. :("

You say "So, hopefully everyone is aware the hatching is this Saturday at 8PM Eastern, 5PM Pacific, and the various times in between."

You say "If you cannot make it /and/ cannot find a puppeteer, please +mail myself and R'hin with a temporary password for that day and we will find someone to log you there."

You say "And possibly a few poses sketched out of what your character might do on the sands so we can pass them along so your char isn't doing a 180 degree difference in personality that day."

You say "In general, even if you can make it, finding someone to be your 'back up' just in case is a good idea. Net can burp, RL can come up..."

You say "This brings us to something I fear by even mentioning will be tempting fate."

You say "If the game goes down on Saturday, we will reconvene on TooMUSH."

Satiet puts the info in the log, just in case there are people who aren't aware of the existence of our little refuge.

You say "For puppeteers, please make sure they are aware of this. XD"

You say "Also. ^^ If you can make the hatching, but have to leave early, or cannot stay long, or will be on later, please inform us as well as we'll do our best to accommodate your timeframe. :)"

You say "As it stands, the hatching will take, at most, two hours depending on various factors, though hopefully not that long."

Nathein says "If we can make it but don't have a puppeteer lined up just in case... +mail a temporary password?"

You say "You can do that as well."

Nathein says "Thanks."

You say "But we would /really/ like to actually have you on the sands at 8PM Eastern."

You say "So would prefer people to be on the game at least 15-30 minutes in advanced."

You say "This brings me to IC stuff for a bit."

You say "ICly, you will know the eggs will probably be hatching sometime /that/ day, and if not that day, sometime the next."

You say "The kitchens'll be preparing lots of food and people will be flown in throughout the day. Dignitaries, family members the like..."

You say "Feel free to ignore the chore duty roster or doing chores, for say, your parents coming in, and showing them around the Weyr, or being corralled into 'special' duties like airing out the banners that hang in the galleries or chopping the 1000th tuber for the evening's feasts."

You say "I know y'all have been playing around cleaning and redoing robes."

You say "At High Reaches Weyr, we do not require candidates to actually desc robes if they do not wish to."

You say "It's a one time shot for a lot of people, and a desc is probably the last thing to worry over. That said, if you want to desc a robe, have at. Robes tend to be potato sack affairs, with no extra embroidery and holes for your limbs to pop out of."

You say "They tend to be knee-length or a little longer, but will generally (if the proper fit is found or made) be comfortable enough to move easily in. XD"

You say "Girls wear their hair back out of their face, and we don't make your feet suffer at HRW so wearing thick-soled sandals is a plus. XD"

Nathein says "Boots okay?"

Satiet ah. No. Simply because it's supposed to be all uniform so you guys look, physically, to the untrained and apparently semi-blind hatchling's gaze similar enough to not stand out.

You say "So a bin of sandals will be out with the robe-ly type things."

Nathein says "Understood."

You say "There is no group pose, but ICly, you should all bow to the clutch parents and form a loose semi-circle around the eggs. I'daur will lead you from the barracks to the area just outside the sands and send you off once things are all ready. :)"

I'daur woohoo me! ;)

You say "Please don't pose touching any of the dragonets or eggs unless you have Impressed and you will definitely know if you do. Also, do not pose NPC candidates getting injured or yourselves, unless you have cleared it in advanced (today or tomorrow) with myself or R'hin. While we'd love to have NPC flavor on the sands, don't feel forced to play your NPCs if you are overwhelmed by sheer spammage."

You say "We'll also be taking care of various NPC Impressions. XD"

You say "Basically, all that really matters is yourselves and that you're having fun. :)"

Satiet was so nervous at my hatching that I might have forgotten to have had fun if not for the fact that a friend of mine was eating her way through an entire tub of mini mozzarella balls.

Nathein says "Thatsa lotta cheese."

Nathein | You have to imagine that in a very bad Italian accent.

You say "The galleries won't echo onto the sands, but we'll make sure to get a log from them available for you all."

Satiet didn't have to. Somehow, I think Nathein, and then gambling, and then /big/ guy, and the Italian accent just seems to make sense. XD

Ayson says "Haha, ditto."

You say "Poses should not be excessively long. We'd prefer them to be somewhere less than 8 lines with your name prepended, so please try not to emit. It just helps people keep track of whether or not Someone has posed and what they're posing. And if you must emit, don't forget that name. XD"

You say "The rule of thumb for # of poses is 1 per dragon/egg pose, but you don't have to pose every time. Just let us know you're still alive somewhere there by posing consistently. :)"

You say "There is also, no such thing as pose order on the sands."

You say "If you Impress, you will get a private message that no one else will. It will tell you your honorific if you are male, and your dragon's name. If there is any confusion at all about this, please page myself."

You say "Please also try to include the name in your pose afterwards as everyone will be breathlessly waiting."

Satiet says, "Our weyrlingmaster staff will be waiting to haul you off the sands to the Weyrleader's ledge where you can interact some more with your puppetted dragon and try to relax. And eat."

Satiet says, "Some random, personal, OOC advice. Having a tub of mozzarella cheese on hand for once the hatching is over is not a bad idea. :P"

You say "It has some things about page locking yourself, which I don't really recommend, given members of SC or people running hatchlings might be trying to page you and the like. It gives you tips on setting yourself halt so none of your commands run away from you."

You say "And then at the bottom, I rigged together a mini-SimpleMU tutorial on what to possibly highlight so things will stand out and the color coding will help organize your spam."

Nathein says "The highlight has the Colors in caps; do you know if the dragonets will have other identifiable tags? Hatchling or Dragonet as a name?"

You say "To streamline the process of getting as much information to you as possible in as short amount of time, should you Impress, you will also be receiving a +mail immediately on Impression that will delineate various documents you have to read and what to do so we can get you your DTUs. This is just a heads up in case you get a mega-spammy +mail to blame I'daur and not me."

You say "Oh, one last command that might be of use to you. I know when I stood I was curious as to who Impressed what, but couldn't, for the life of me, keep up."

You say "At HRW we have a command '+hstatus' -- that if you try it now, won't work, but will work on the day of the hatching."

You say "That will allow you to keep track of Impressions so far, dragon names etc..."

You say "So you don't have to spam yourself with constant +rwhos, etc... XD"

Nathein says "You said to please include the dragon name in a pose. I've seen some places are very finicky and want it as dialogue. Is it okay if it's just referenced in the pose and not said out loud?"

Satiet is not finicky. Do what you will. Some people may complain, but it is, in the end, your moment.
