Council Chamber, High Reaches Weyr(#770RIJs$)
This cavern, nearly as large as a dragon weyr, is filled with an oval table, surrounded by chairs, at which meetings are held. The chair at the far end of the table is somewhat larger than the rest, the embroidered seat cushion done a little fancier, but not too much so. In the center of the hardwood table the symbol of High Reaches Weyr has been inlaid in colored stones, gleaming in the light from the glowbaskets hung around the room. 

A natural alcove is filled with shelves, all piled high with neatly ordered records of past turns. A short passage leads back to the Weyrleaders' ledge.

Public announcement: Satiet announces "We'll be starting our OOC Search meeting for High Reaches Weyr about now! @tel #770 if you're interested in applying, interested in the process, or just want to poke about! :)"

Satiet mmm.

Satiet has... tofu. XD

Persie so wins.

Milani adds veggie dumplings to the mix.

Satiet says, "Which sounds like the beginning of a really bad like sign. [ Have tofu, will beg. ]"

Amerie covets the tofu.

Satiet gets all comfy with dinner and juice and starts in. If you're here and have a dragon, I presume you're here to make trouble. If you're here without a dragon, I presume you're here to make trouble. Either way, trouble. XD More seriously~, this is where we'll tell you and those who read the log later, what they want to know about High Reaches' upcoming Search cycle. :)

Satiet says, "Some of us are here to help answer questions, which we welcome. If you have questions that don't get addressed in the meeting that you think of later, feel free to page myself or people you see when you type +rwho hrw. :)"

Persie says "Questions rock. XD"

Amerie is never trouble. :D

Milani says "Yeah, you're the good asst hw, Amerie ;)"

Satiet says, "Trouble, the lot of you. XD"

N'thei says "I don't think we have a good asst hw here. XD"

Satiet says, "Once the meeting is over, the Search applications will be available to submit on our website: http://search.hrweyr.net/, which incidentally is where our Search calendar is with recently adjusted dates. Our first event coming up is the leadership flight where Teonath will rise, with, as it seems to be a tradition here, surprises in our grab bag."

Persie says "Well, I guess it depends on the definition of 'good'. ;)"

Satiet says, "Good for bad people is bad for good people."

Satiet isn't really sure what people would call HRW. :P Good people or bad people. XD

Amerie says "A little from column A..."

Satiet says, "A pinch of column B?"

Satiet says, "While our hatching window is from March 7 - 16, most likely the hatching will occur within the second week(end)."

Satiet says, "Just so you can prepare for it well well well in advanced."

Satiet says, "In the past, we've entertained the idea of concept characters, but for this cycle, we've adjusted the definition of concept characters and have instead created a list of desired concepts for those people who are thinking of Search but not sure of how to best fit into the area or just wanting a list of ideas that would work. Satiet says, "Since we're heading into the final stages of our cross-area plot with Telgar Weyr, a lot of the concepts tie into that and if you'd like more information on how that plot is going and has gone, http://wiki.hrweyr.net/ has a timeline of events and logs to follow. :)"

Satiet pauses for questions. Bueller? Ferris? XD

Satiet had a question earlier from someone who couldn't be here regarding Telgar Weyr-based applications. :)

Satiet says, "We totally welcome Search applications from characters based at Telgar Weyr. But we need to note that there might be some IC difficulties in getting Searched - we might have to finagle a reason to whisk someone away from Telgar, or work out a scene that's not physically at Telgar Weyr."

Satiet says, "Rest assured, if we decide to Search you, we will be working with Telgar Weyr OOCly to make sure it works out and possibly generate more RP on the side for all those involved."

Satiet says, "However, we do expect people who apply from Telgar Weyr to have very solid reasons included in their application as to why someone whose life and loyalties are based at Telgar would accept a Reachian dragon's Search offer ICly, so please keep that in mind. :)"

Satiet says, "To a lesser extent, those characters applying with a Crom background should also include these reasons - but there are less logistical concerns with the actual act of Searching since Crom isn't a PC area. ;)"

N'thei is Crom VIP, will take care of it, no prob.

Satiet eyes dubiously.

Amerie says "Yeah, that'll go well."

I'daur says "You and me both."

Milani gets the bandages ready.

Satiet says, "The clutching is currently set about a month from now with OOC Search closing a few days after on February 21st. Important dates not to forget! ^^v"

Satiet says, "We're also putzing around with a few ideas for a slightly less intense plot to begin sometime in the next few months and hope to keep the momentum of plot and RP going well towards the summer so candidates and weyrlings can get involved."

Satiet says, "And for some background information in regards to the game's uberplot, Thread is scheduled to end sometime in the middle of this summer, so we'll be going into Interval-based RP based on the wizards' final decision."

Persie cheers for the end of that pesky pesky Thread. Ah, the life of luxury awaits! Right? XD

Satiet says, "Pink parasols and umbrella drinks?"

Persie says "Nothing says High Reaches like an umbrella drink. ;)"

Amerie says "Part of the year anyway?"

Satiet says, "Topped with snow. ;)"

Persie says "Slushies all the way. ;)"

Satiet says, "People tend to be curious of what we look for in candidates. We look for people who are active, honest with us and themselves, and love their character. Generally, I've found that people who love their character tend to be active on their own because of that and also have the added benefit of an interesting character as they explore all facets of him or her."

Satiet says, "We appreciated characters with a lot of dimensions and depth and while we're not adverse to cantankerous or contentious characters, we'd also really appreciate characters who are just good (and maybe not alcoholics). XD"

Satiet thinks High Reaches on its own sort of takes the cake for the # of alcoholics running around the game.

I'daur will toast to that.

Satiet imagines it has to do with the weather and wanting desperately to have umbrella drinks year round. XD

N'thei says "It's like Russia."

Amerie says "Well, the Finns and Russian..."

Satiet ...

Satiet says, "You two are too scary."

Persie says "Vodka!"

Amerie says "Pretty much vodka, full time."

Satiet says, "As this is a bronze-gold pairing, we are also open to the possibility of a gold egg dependant on applications and possibly interviews."

Satiet says, "If you're thinking of applying for gold, please review the brief outline of what the Weyr's needs are for this cycle in a gold Impression on the metallic application page. :)"

Satiet peeks at my cheat sheet. "And that's all from me. Any questions?" ^^

Amerie raises her hand, all politely.

Satiet says, "Shoot. ^^"

Amerie says "Is it a huge problem if we might not be able to make the hatching? I ask because I may be in transit at the time. :)"

Satiet says, "We're easy."

Satiet says, "If you can't make the hatching, you should find a puppeteer, and if you can't find a puppeteer, we'll be happy to try and accommodate you, but it'll be something to address closer to the date. Hopefully you won't be in transit. XD"

Persie has a question, too. ^^

Amerie says "Thank you!"

Satiet calls on Persie.

Persie says "Whee! How has the definition of concept characters has been adjusted? Do you want people to pick only from the list or is it still open to other ideas too?"

Satiet says, "Basically, the definitions changed because it was once used to differentiate between characters who were designed to add specific color to the Weyr and those who play more naturally, create a char, create a background and personality and play."

Satiet says, "We've changed it because we believe that all characters who are created with a solid background and personality are concept characters, so have otherwise created a list to give people ideas of what kinds of concepts are available."

Satiet says, "You totally do not have to pick from the list, it's sort of there for convenience sake and to provide people with a list of concepts that we would appreciate to help balance existing personalities and what not, but you're totally free to create your own character and your own concept ideas. :)"

Satiet says, "If you're interested in being Stand Only, we do ask that you fill out the general application, with the exception of 'what you'd like in a dragon' and 'what colors you're interested in'."
